Things You Need To Be Buying From Daiso

It’s official: I am obsessed with shopping at Daiso. Everything is super CUTE and super CHEAP, I just can’t help it. There are so many items that I was paying $10, $20, $30 for that are available at Daiso for their iconic price of $2.80. It really is a goldmine of a store.

I regularly share my weekly finds over on my Instagram Stories, but I thought I’d finally write an actual post about this wonderful place so those who haven’t been to one yet can find out just what’s so great about this unique little store. Spoiler alert: it’s everything.

More specifically: their range of novelty plates. I honestly don’t know how it happened, but Daiso has awakened a deep love of novelty plates that was apparently hiding somewhere within.

It started with their bread range, which took me a few weeks to complete (I’ve never felt more accomplished than the day I found that final plate from the collection), and then I discovered their latest range of novelty plates, which I bought every one of instantly.

I am so in love with every tiny plate I’ve bought so far that I’ve just accepted the fact that this is going to be a new collection of mine – now I just need to figure out a space-saving way to display them! That’s not going to be easy 😅

They have so much more to offer than just plates, though. There’s home decor items for every room of the house, all in a range of styles to suit anyone’s preference. You really need to see it to understand just how much stuff they have!

Not only do they have all the typical office supplies – scissors, pencils, pens, sticky notes, paper, glue, staplers, sticky tape, etc –  but they also have a TON of super cute office supplies available, too.

Think sticky notes shaped like baked goods, sharpeners in unique designs, a vast range of washi tape, and so much more! Their selection is guaranteed to make keeping track of all your tasks a lot more fun 🙊

The main reason I started shopping at Daiso is because of their home decor pieces, but I think it’s important that I emphasise how many common, everyday items are available at Daiso – in a range of adorable colours, I might add – for a measly $2.80.

Daniel and I don’t buy anything new until we’ve checked Daiso for it first, and we usually always find what we’re looking for. As a baker, I naturally head to the kitchen aisle first, where there’s an array of whisks, spatulas, trays, utensils, and everything else a kitchen could possibly need, all in a range of colours, and all for $2.80.

They’ve also got a huge range of office and bathroom/laundry supplies, plus the largest collection of different sized jars, containers, and boxes that you have ever seen. It’s honestly breathtaking to see.

How I wish this shop had opened up near me when Daniel and I first moved out, it would have made stocking up on household supplies a LOT easier and cheaper!

I already have a plethora of craft supplies, so I am yet to buy many from Daiso, but I still think their selection is super cute and worth mentioning!

They have a heap of different stickers, felt, patterned paper, embellishments, plain cardboard boxes, and so many more items that are just waiting for your creative minds to turn them into something spectacular.

I’ve had my eye on their selection of different coloured clay for a while as that is an art medium that I’d like to improve on, and after seeing what others have created with it, I’m even more eager to try it!

I have a confession: I cannot stop buying Daiso’s mini cookie cutters! I know that I’ve shared with you all that I try to make my own cookie cutters now instead of buying them, but they’re just SO cute and SO cheap at Daiso, I can’t say no!

I have also found that mini cookies are a lot more difficult to make than regular sized ones, so I’d rather save myself the headache. Plus, they have packs of two, four and six that are all $2.80 each! Just this year, I have acquired over THIRTY mini cookie cutters from Daiso 😯

I’m currently brainstorming some fun, but helpful ways to store these tiny cuties so that they’re still somewhat on display, so if you have any ideas, please send them my way!

Despite the fact that I’ve been raving about Daiso nonstop throughout this post, this is 100% NOT sponsored. I just had so much built up love for this store that I had to share it with someone other than Daniel!

He comes with me to this store multiple times a week and hears me constantly say “it’s honestly like they made this store just for me!”, so he fully understands my deep love for Daiso – and now you all do, too!

If you have a Daiso near you, or you’re able to go somewhere that has one someday, I really do recommend you take a look inside.

Whilst I mostly love it for it’s unique and quirky items, it’s also a great place to find everyday items for a super low price, which is especially helpful for students and people who are just moving out on their own, as that can be quite expensive!

Until next time,
Indya xx

  1. Oh my gosh, will you kill me if I say I’ve never shopped here? I’m ashamed haha because everything looks amazing! I can’t get over how inexpensive and affordable this is! THANK YOU for sharing this!

    • Hahaha, of course not! I’ll just be mildly shocked 😉 To be honest, I’m not even sure how many Daiso stores there are, or where they are situated around the world, so it might not be as easy to get to as my one is! If you find one near you though, you really MUST go! It has everything 🙌

  2. I am not familiar with Daiso and now I need to look into it. You mentioned two things that I love — cute office supplies and cookie cutters (especially for seasonal cookie baking). It sounds like a great place to shop!
