Goodbye, March! 👋 I’m sad to see it go because it ended on a high note for me (it was quite a busy month actually, hence why this post is a little late), but it also had some bumps along the way that I’ll fill you in on during this post. I have a whopping FIVE DAY WEEKEND and I have no idea what I’m going to dow with myself 😰 so *hopefully* I’m able to think of some things to create!
It’s funny giving last month’s review post a quick read and seeing that we went into lockdown again, and this month – in my state – we get rid of pretty much all restrictions, even masks (except on public transport)! I have to wear make-up to work again which is annoying, but I am SO glad that my chin is going to finally be given the chance to breathe and this random acne that I’ve never had in my LIFE can go away 🙌🎉
Apparently I’m not the only one who has suffered from acne caused by mask-wearing – it’s even been dubbed “maskne”, Google it! – but that still doesn’t make me feel any better, because I have never had an acne problem, except for the few times I’ve accidentally slept in my make-up, so this has been a HUGE self esteem issue for me. Now, of course, the masks are off and you can see it, but hopefully it will go away soon!
This month’s tidbits include a quite a few medical things (including another 3am hospital visit!), a rollercoaster of a job interview, and lots of hanging out with friends 👭 but enough of the previews, keep reading for the actual details! 👇
TIDBITS FROM THE MONTH:
♡ Whilst my seizure tally was only 7, my overall seizure news this month is bad. I had an appointment with my neurologist and he said that the latest medication that I’ve been on for the past few months (which is the third one I’m on, I’m staying on the other two because they’re helping, but not 100%) only seems to be worsening my seizures. Not only that, but that we are running out of medications to put me on, so.. there may not be any cure for my seizures. I might have to live with them forever. Yay.
♡ In other medical news, I woke up with a blinding pain in my stomach/abdominal area at 3am. Daniel took me to the hospital. They asked me some questions, after an hour or two of waiting in the waiting room, they sent me home without any tests. I still have no idea what happened. But, because I was awake at such a strange time, I did have two seizures. 😕 If I didn’t have that horrible pain, my monthly tally might have been two less.
♡ I got a call back for a full time job at an optometrist. The first interview was over the phone and it went SO well; she LOVED me. She actually told me to throw out my current uniform! I got a second interview in-store which was with three different people and it was clear straight away that it wasn’t going and they didn’t like me, and I just did not know why. I got an email saying I didn’t get the job, but no reason saying why, just that they “wish me well”. I was so confused and upset. I never get any interviews, and after that first one went so well, I was very excited, so that was a huge let down.
♡ My best friend and I went out to the Pancake Parlour TWICE this month because she’s obsessed with the place (she went at least two other times that month with other people). I got a spider – which is a soft drink with ice cream – both times because they are delicious 😋 I also tried their cinnamon apple pancakes which were nice, but I don’t anything beats maple or golden syrup.
♡ Last weekend I went over to a friend’s house with some other friends to have lunch together whilst they also tried to make homemade cocktails, before we all met up with some other people at a bar near the city to go dancing. Then, the next day, Daniel and I drove an hour to go to a birthday lunch for a friend of mine from my first high school, so it was quite a busy weekend!
POSTS OF MINE FROM THIS MONTH:
IN MARCH I:
♡ WATCHED: I finished (and then re-started 😅😂) Schitt’s Creek and am so sad it’s over because I could watch Patrick and David forever. I also watched the documentary about the show called Best Wishes, Warmest Regards, which made me cry A LOT. I started watching Dawson’s Creek after hearing it be mentioned in so many TV shows, and was hooked by the first episode. I’m already well into the second season. I also (obviously) started watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and am very interested in what they’re going to do in only 6 episodes! Bucky/The Winter Soldier is one of my top 5 Marvel characters of all-time, so I LOVE getting to see more of him, and his storyline is heartbreaking so far. Although, I actually think they might do more seasons with this one, unlike WandaVision, since it says “S1: E1” at the top when you’re watching. Thoughts? 🤔
♡ BOUGHT (the highlights): The first three seasons of SpongeBob (found ALL of them one week after another!) and a Polaroid camera (reference pic) from thrift shops; two donut tape cutter (reference pic), three new hole punches, and a Toy Story silicon mould (reference pic) from Daiso; a Chewbacca, Rey, Han Solo, BB-8, and Stormtrooper PEZ Dispensers (pictured above) from eBay to add to my ever-growing collection; Raichu pop vinyl + pre-ordered the David Rose one from Zing Pop Culture; a white checkered scarf, a pink checkered scarf, a black checkered scarf, and a chocolate Iron Man helmet from Kmart; pink pants, yellow pants, green checkered pants, and a black sequin peplum top from Ally; aaaaaand microwave crepes from ALDI which are to DIE for 🤤
♡ LISTENED TO: A Day To Remember’s new album You’re Welcome. This is their first album with the label Fueled By Ramen, which is amazing, but I do feel bad for their last label for losing after six albums. They clearly believed in them and did so well for them, but they might have been other stuff going on that I don’t know about. I really like Bloodsucker, Mindreader, Brick Wall, and Degenerates. After being obsessed with one song by The Kid LAROI last year, I decided to listen to more of his album this month, and have really enjoyed ALWAYS DO, WITHOUT YOU, and NOT FAIR. I’ve been listening to some random Kellin Quinn songs such as Wrong, Someone Else, and Ground Zero, as well as Corpse’s songs Miss YOU!, Never Satisfied, and DAYWALKER! with Machine Gun Kelly. Random other songs I liked this month include Angels Like You by Miley Cyrus, Love Me Land by Zara Larsson, Can You Feel My Heart? Remix by Bring Me The Horizon ft. Jeris Johnson, This Is Me Breaking Up With You by Hey Violet, Mood by 24kGoldn ft. iann dior, Me Gusta by Anitta, Myka Towers, Cardi B, Can You Keep a Secret? by Ellise, and Cover Me in Sunshine by P!nk and Willow Sage Hart.
THINGS BY OTHERS THAT I LOVE:
♡ Cookies, or artistic masterpiece? BOTH.
♡ This might be a DIY for children, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’d love my future kitchen to look like this – especially the stars on the cabinets! Too cute 😍
♡ Okay, that’s it: I need to try whipped coffee.
♡ 33 moments from WandaVision vs. the sitcoms they’re referencing to prove how detailed the show is.
♡ This post about worldwide catastrophes taught that me that the tragedy that caused me and many of my friends to lose our houses in a huge bush fire (which was actually one of the least worst things to happen to me that day) is apparently not very well known outside of Australia, which surprised me.
♡ This school librarian is painting her ceiling tiles as book covers – which is the coolest thing ever – and documenting her progress on TikTok so you can keep up with it!
♡ How to make rainbow cake toppers out of BUTTERCREAM??? 😯
♡ I read the speech “What to the Slave is the 4th of July?” by Fredrick Douglass this month, and it really struck a cord with me. I encourage everyone out there to read it too.
♡ Kaitlin made the cutest drink stirrers for St. Patrick’s Day! 🌈
♡ Support AAPI organisations if you can, after the awful tragedy that occurred this month.
Until next time,
