Rick and Morty Minimalistic Character Jelly/Jello Cups

Well, it may have cost me my sanity, the feeling in my feet, and a LOT of ingredients, but a new recipe for character jelly cups is finally here! After I decided to share last month’s jelly cups in different places than usual – such as a variety of Facebook groups – they ended up getting a lot of attention, which I talked about in my September review post.

I honestly thought no one but me really cared about these creations, but despite that fact, I still wanted to keep making them. No matter how long they take to plan, test, create, photograph, edit and write. No matter how much ingredients they use.

I still love making these, and I was going to keep making them even if no one cared – but last month I got so many amazing comments and feedback from people, and it really helped ignite a flame within my heart. It made me realise that there are people out there who WILL like what I create, I’ve just got to find those people!

I’ve been wanting to create Rick and Morty jelly cups for a while, as it’s one of mine and Daniel’s favourite shows – and considering I seem to average on creating one Rick and Morty-themed recipe post per year, I was running out of time, but I made it! Hope you enjoy ☺️

The Powerpuff Girls Popcorn Mix

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of The Powerpuff Girls. They’ve been the subject of a few recipes on the blog before – and I have a few DIY projects inspired by them in mind too – but when I heard recently that there is talks of there being a live-action reboot of The Powerpuff Girls, I HAD to use that as an excuse to make something PPG-related once again 🙌

As a big lover of TV shows, I don’t mind a lot of reboots. Anything that is giving me the opportunity to see MORE of my favourite characters, and sometimes my favourite actors, is a-okay in my books! I’ll give anything a chance. Gilmore Girls and Will & Grace have both had reboots with the original actors (mostly), and I loved them too. I wished they went on forever, honestly.

That said, this new PPG reboot is going to be VERY different, and not just because it’s going to be live action. According the many articles I read, including this one from Vogue Australia, they are going to be in their 20’s and “resent having lost their childhood to crimefighting”. I can understand that!

So yeah, this reboot will be SUPER different, but it also sounds really good too. Too bad it’s going to be a long time until we see it. Until then though, you can all enjoy this delicious – and super easy! – recipe 😉

Bob’s Burgers Minimalistic Character Jelly/Jello Cups

I let a poll on Instagram choose what TV show‘s main characters would be the subject of this month’s jelly recipe, and I was not at all surprised when Bob’s Burgers won 😂

One of the downsides to living in Australia (and I don’t often speak of its downsides as, other than it being kind of boring here, we do have it pretty great!), is that it’s impossible to watch Bob’s Burgers here legally – OTHER than season one.

I know; it’s insane. I do own season one – as you will see in these photos – and Daniel and I LOVE it to death. I’ve also seen a lot of other clips and screenshots from the other NINE SEASONS that Australia is missing out on (?!?!?!), so I do know Bob’s Burgers is an amazing show, and I was more than happy to honour it in jelly form.

I’ve been wanting to learn more with my jelly creations in order to take them to the next level. During the making and photographing of this creation, I went through a lot of trial and error that will (hopefully) assist me in my future jelly recipes.

You may notice that most layers are opaque now, which is something I’ve been trying to achieve for a while now as it’s a lot easier to see the different layers.

I still have some work to do on making the colours vibrant as well, but just think of where my jelly creations will be by next year if I keep them up at this pace!
